This year, to celebrate its 100th anniversary, Purdy is surprising professional painters and decorators who have gone above and beyond and deserve some recognition. The brushes and tools manufacturer is calling for nominations via its social channels, with one lucky winner selected each month to be surprised on site with a load of Purdy goodies and a gift suggested by the nominator.

If you have a friend, relative or colleague in the painting and decorating industry who deserves recognition, simply visit the Purdy Brushes UK Instagram or Facebook page and nominate the individual via direct message, explaining why you think they deserve to be treated. A winner will then be selected and a prize worth up to £200 would be chosen by the nominator.

Since launching the competition on its social media channels, the Purdy team have surprised two decorators on site with prizes chosen by their nominators.

The first winner, Les Copestake from LPC Painting and Decorating was nominated by his employee Darren, for always going above and beyond for his team and offering unwavering kindness and support through tough times. Les was surprised with a bag of Purdy goodies and Aston Villa football tickets.

The following month, the team surprised Joe Connolly from JC Decor with a Purdy goodie bag and a Purdy Painter’s Storage Box after he was nominated by his friend Brylo for providing brilliant advice and always giving him a push in the right direction.

Clara Dursent, Brand Manager at Purdy commented: “We are thrilled to be celebrating 100 years of Purdy. Since day one, our brushes and tools have been carefully crafted to deliver the very best performance; but we know that painting and decorating takes more than just excellent tools and equipment, it takes support and shared expertise. So, like our Mentor of the Year initiative, we’re looking to recognise those who go above and beyond for their friends and colleagues in the trade and thank them for their work to support the wider industry.”
