Bradite One Can has become the go-to finish for the team at Snowdon Mountain Railway, thanks to its quick-drying, highly durable formulation.

The iconic attraction is the UK’s only public rack-and-pinion mountain railway. First built in 1895, it has been welcoming visitors for 130 years, offering a unique and accessible way to experience the landscapes of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and Eryri National Park.

With Bradite’s factory based in the foothills of Snowdon, and both brands sharing a commitment to sustainability, the team at Bradite were delighted to supply One Can paint to their neighbours to support the ongoing restoration and protection of this historic site.

In the words of Snowdon Mountain Railway’s Estate Manager, Phil Hughes – who was recommended One Can by Brewers Decorator Centre in Bangor –  Bradite has become “a high-quality solution for the demanding conditions we work in.” He adds, “It’s proven to be a reliable product for use across the railway.”

Bradite One Can is touch dry in just 30 minutes, with recoats possible after 1 hour, making it ideal for exterior painting where speed and effective weatherproofing are key factors. Phil explains, “We find that Bradite products are particularly well suited to our environment because they dry quickly, provide strong coverage and perform reliably even in colder conditions.”

The team initially turned to Bradite’s protective coatings to refresh several exterior steel inspection covers at the summit station that were in urgent need of attention.

Phil Hughes says, “We were very pleased with One Can’s ease of application and excellent coverage.” He added that the Snowdon Mountain Railway team has since “extended its use across the wider site to keep key areas looking their best.”

More recently, this renovation work evolved into a full interior redesign of the corridor and cinema, now fondly known as The Picture House at Llanberis station. One Can was used to paint the newly installed panelling, walls andcinema screen surround. The finished scheme captures the character of a vintage theatre whilst providing an all-in-one solution that withstands everyday wear and tear.
