Smith & Rodger Blockade is a fast-drying shellac-based primer and sealer that is manufactured in Glasgow, Scotland. Not all shellac-based primers are the same! Blockade has fantastic opacity and a better flow than a lot of its competitors, meaning it is easier to use and you’ll need less coats.
What can Blockade be used for?
- Quick coverage of dark colours, stains from nicotine, water damage, mould or smoke damage, so it can then be overcoated. Dries in 15 minutes, overcoat in 45 minutes.
- Covering ink, lipstick, crayon or red wine stains on walls
- Improved adhesion on hard to paint surfaces such as tile or gloss paints with no sanding required
- Blocking odours from smoke, nicotine or past damp
- Sealing tannins and knots in wood surfaces
Where can Blockade be used?
Blockade White Shellac Sealer Primer provides excellent adhesion to most interior surfaces such as:
- wood,
- plaster,
- drywall,
- porous wallcoverings,
- metal
- tile
- previously painted surfaces
How do I apply it?
Apply using a brush, roller or spray.
For difficult to reach or uneven surfaces use the 400ml spray can of Blockade
A single coat is enough for most jobs.
Fast drying, Touch dry in 15 mins, Recoatable in 45 mins.
Good coverage of 12.5m2/l.
