Crown Trade products have once again been recognised for their quality and performance, contributing to key contractors’ major wins at the 2025 Premier Trophy Awards, hosted by the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA).

This year’s PDA Premier Trophy Awards saw decorators across the industry commended for their achievements. The awards give leading decorating businesses the opportunity to showcase their achievements over the past year, with many celebrating work completed using high-quality products from Crown.

The brand supported three award-winning projects in the Residential, Commercial, and Industrial categories – testament to the trust placed in Crown Trade by professionals across the sector.

Trident Maintenance took home the Residential award for redecorating Homemead Residential Care, a care home specialising in dementia. The sensitive refurbishment focused on delivering a calm and welcoming environment for residents.

The project was completed with the safety of residents in mind, using Crown Trade Timonox for the communal entrances and stairwell. Timonox is a flame-retardant coating – maintaining the fire rating of the property, without compromising on the finish of the paint.

The Industrial award also went to Trident Maintenance, for their restoration of St Mary’s Lighthouse, an iconic North East landmark. The complex project required specialist access and preparation to ensure a protective and long-lasting finish capable of withstanding the harsh coastal environment.

Sandtex X-treme X-posure was chosen for painting the building’s exteriors due to its unmatched durability and guaranteed 20 years of protection, which proved ideal for preserving the historic structure over the coming decades.

The restoration project was restricted to short working windows due to rising tides cutting off access to the site. The team also took measures to minimise any disturbance to the local marine and plant life, as the lighthouse sits in the middle of a nature reserve.

In the Commercial category, A C Beck & Son were awarded for their work on Hedsor House, a Georgian country house hotel and wedding destination. The ambitious project involved redecorating 10 uniquely designed bedrooms and adjoining corridor spaces, while ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.

The team carried out extensive planning to achieve a rapid two-week turnaround, with wallpapers supplied by Sanderson and paint products from Crown Trade, with Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt and Fastflow Eggshell ensuring exceptional aesthetics and durability throughout.

Liam Wager – National Sales Manager for Contractor and Specification at Crown Paints said: “We are proud that our commitment to providing decorators with high-quality products, underpinned by best-in-class service and support through our Crown Decorating Centres, is helping them to achieve award-winning results across such a diverse range of projects.

“But these wins are about more than just the product; they’re a celebration of the talent within the decorating industry. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
