The hard-wearing, weatherproof exterior finishes offered in Little Greene’s exterior paint collection combine the highest technical performance with a beautiful finish and profound depth of colour.

Available in the complete Little Greene colour palette, finishes include gloss and eggshell paints for woodwork and metalwork in both oil-based and water-based systems, traditional Limewash and Masonry Paint for brickwork, stone and render.

The comprehensive range of finishes and colours enable the complete transformation of outdoor spaces, bringing durable protection, year-round colour, joy and design interest to an exterior.

“It’s fantastic to see a shift in the use of colour for outdoor spaces. Whilst colour schemes are often in keeping with a property’s period, many are embracing the use of colour to create characterful, statement exteriors.

The colour confidence we have seen in recent years within interiors is certainly impacting choices in outdoor areas too. Rather than being treated separately, we are seeing interior design schemes and the use of colour being taken outside, extending the colour palette within the home to create a sense of flow.

Exterior decorating trends are very much following those we are seeing in interiors, with rich, warm, brown-based tones and earthy natural colours being embraced alongside more traditional coastal blues and sea greens.

The use of forest, emerald and leaf greens such as ‘Hopper’, ‘Goblin’ and ‘Mid Azure Green’ in exteriors is on the rise too, with transitional spaces and garden areas being drenched in glorious greens. By using green as a backdrop to planting, you can extend and enhance the feeling of being enveloped by the natural world.

As well as the use of exterior colour that complements our natural surroundings, we are seeing interior design schemes that maximise the power of exterior views to draw in the soothing qualities of the outdoors. From the literal framing of leafy foliage with blacks and dark greys on interior window frames, to the use of gentle stone and delicate green tones such as ‘Portland Stone’, ‘Kitchen Green’ and ‘Green Stone’ to create a sense a flow from the outdoors, nature’s greens are being incorporated and elevated within both interior and exterior schemes.”

The Finishes

Intelligent Masonry Paint

Intelligent Masonry Paint is designed to last up to 15 years on exterior walls before re-painting is required when applied correctly.

This environmentally friendly water-based paint dries quickly to a pleasingly smooth matt finish and is suitable for use on brickwork, new render, cement blockwork and existing exterior paint finishes.

It is dirt and water resistant, containing anti-fungal and anti-ageing technology, giving peace of mind to proud homeowners looking to protect and weatherproof their home for longer, whilst transforming their exterior with long lasting colour.

Intelligent Exterior Eggshell

Intelligent Exterior Eggshell is the choice of the practical homeowner for all exterior woodwork and metalwork including doors, window trims, timber buildings, gates and garden furniture.

The technically advanced, self-priming formulation means Intelligent Exterior Eggshell can be applied straight onto new and bare wood, as well as to suitably primed metalwork.

One of the smartest and most environmentally friendly choices for all exterior joinery, Intelligent Exterior Eggshell has an elegant, smooth appearance that belies its inherent strength and durability.

Available in all shades in the Little Greene colour palette, this paint is surface dry in 2–4 hours, and can be recoated in 16 hours.

Intelligent Gloss

The finish of this fabulous, high gloss paint is now on a par with a traditional oil-based gloss.

Extraordinarily tough and fully washable, Intelligent Gloss is quick-drying and capable of dramatically transforming a space using a combination of its unique light-reflectance and a fabulous Little Greene colour.

Tom’s Oil Eggshell

Tom’s Oil Eggshell is the preferred traditional finish of one of Little Greene’s senior chemists, after whom it was named, and is much loved by professional decorators.

Oil-based and therefore extremely hard-wearing, it has excellent flow, deep adhesion, a beautiful low sheen and is fully weather resistant.

Also available in all colours, this charming, washable paint is suitable for exterior woodwork and metalwork.

Traditional Oil Gloss

Traditional Oil Gloss has a classic, deep gloss finish, which looks extremely smart on front doors and traditional joinery.

It can be used on both exterior & interior woodwork and metalwork.

Extremely hard-wearing, easy to look after and shiny enough to reflect a lot of light, Traditional Oil Gloss is both practical and elegant.

Despite its traditional qualities, this gloss finish uses Little Greene’s innovative environmentally-friendly eco-oil recipe, which has been formulated using naturally-occurring vegetable oils.

Limewash

Limewash is a traditional finish, used to decorate and protect porous stone and lime-rendered surfaces.

Water-based and completely breathable, it is the chosen finish for old walls, especially those prone to damp problems.

Unlike modern paints, Limewash fuses with the stone surface and its beautiful, charismatic depth is built up by applying successive coats.

Very matt, it is available in a wide choice of colours.

Intelligent ASP (All Surface Primer)

Intelligent ASP (All Surface Primer) is Little Greene’s most technically-advanced primer and provides the perfect preparation for your chosen finish.

Supplied tinted to suit your top-coat colour, Intelligent ASP is particularly recommended on patch-repaired or friable surfaces, and to aid the switch from a pale colour to a dark or bold one (or vice versa).
