Time is running out for schools across London to enter a competition to win a share of a £10,000 makeover prize fund.
Hundreds of schools have already been nominated in Leyland’s Big School Makeover initiative, which will see three schools in the capital win thousands of pounds worth of paint, tools and building materials to revamp the environment for their pupils.
One winning school will receive £5,000 to spend at any of Leyland’s 35 stores, while two runners-up will secure £2,500 worth of materials each.
Schools have been urged not to miss the chance to enter the competition – with the September 30 deadline fast approaching.
Martin Hastings, CEO of Leyland, said: “We have received hundreds of excellent nominations to Big School Makeover. It’s clear there are many schools who would benefit from our fantastic prize.
“There is now less than a week for parents, guardians, grandparents and carers to get involved and to champion their favoured school.
“Every single nomination will be read by our judging team and the best 10 will go before a public vote to decide the winners.
“I can’t wait to find out who comes out on top. Having visited our previous two winners, I know the prize can really make a tremendous difference and help improve learning for thousands of children in London.”
Entries can be made by visiting www.leylandsdm.co.uk/bigschoolmakeover and submitting 100 words explaining how the funding would help.
Leyland has been in prominent London locations for 40 years and is proud to call the capital its home.
Previous Big School Makeover winners have been Latchmere School and Malden Manor Primary School, both in Kingston.
Latchmere was able to revamp classrooms and corridors, while Malden Manor refurbished its sports hall.
The winning schools will be able to select any products from Leyland’s extensive range, including paint, decorating essentials, tools, hardware, building materials, timber and plumbing parts, all from leading brands.
