Purdy has announced painter and decorator Simon Walker as the winner of its Portland trip competition, held to celebrate the company’s 100-year anniversary. Simon will enjoy a seven-night, luxury stay in Oregon, visiting the Purdy factory to meet brushmakers and create his own custom brush.
Painters and decorators across the UK and Ireland were invited to explain why they wanted to visit Purdy’s home and what the trip would mean to them. Following many submissions, Simon Walker emerged as the standout winner.
Like many in the trade, Simon has trusted Purdy as his brush of choice throughout his career. A novel introduction to Purdy whilst holidaying in Bermuda led to a devoted passion for the quality Purdy brush, entrusting his 3-inch Purdy Pro Extra to provide perfect cutting in lines, time after time. Ecstatic Simon revealed: “I wouldn’t be the Decorator I am today without my Purdy brushes. I have tried every brush on the market, but nothing works for me like a Purdy. I am beyond thrilled to be visiting the Purdy factory, I have spoken for years about making my own brush with my name on the sticker and now I am – I will probably frame it!”
