Why I’m a Dulux Select Decorator
by Les Copestake
I’ve been a member of Dulux Select for a few years now. I went into it with the same scepticism as a lot of other decorators do about the scheme now. I only joined because I had my head turned by a decorator who’s in the scheme, lives local to me and is one of the best decorators I know.
The Dulux Select membership costs £250 and is the biggest “no brainer” of the year for me. I don’t do it for the leads I get from their website, I’m usually booked up 12 months in advance. I don’t do it for their guarantee either, as 50% of the time I’m using paints which have been specified by designers or chosen by the client, like Little Greene or Farrow and Ball.
I use it for the fact customers these days do their homework on decorators before deciding who to use, and they can see on my website and Dulux that we must undergo a thorough assessment to get on the scheme. Not everyone gets on. All you can do is apply online and impress the assessors.
Plus, what you get back is crazy; free days out, unreal prizes in the competitions (In the past two years I’ve been to centre court at Wimbledon, new Spurs ground and a Hotel Chocolate hamper 😂) like Georgie says, I could go on and on. Personally, I think the scheme is great, kind of glad the sheep in the forums don’t want to join, more kudos for me.
