Simon Newbold

Don’t hang Laura Ashley, just walk away! 🤣🤣

Gaz Clayton

When trimming tops and bottoms, do 2 or 3 lengths at a time to ensure a straighter line along ceiling and skirting. 👍🏼

Ronnie Watt

Buy a Tapofix paste machine

Sean Knowells

Keep a clean towel when you are pasting to clean and dry the paste table whilst papering. You can get them free at most charity shops.

Pete Clark

Cut the top of the paper 3 inches long, fold back top 2 inches to stop paste going on ceiling. Cut both layers and peel back top to remove excess.

Stuart Beard

Make sure your trimming knife is in your pouch and not over on the window cill, before hanging your drops…..

Kev Donohue

Measure twice, cut once. Dont over work paper, put it up, butt it up and leave it.

Andy Scott

A wooden or plastic 3 foot rule is better than a floppy tape measure. Try one and see. 👍

Roy Forrest

Always use a plumbob as they never lie, then hang first two drops at the same time to avoid any twist, then off you go👍

Wayne Gregory

Always start one in from the left

Jamie Blackwell

Rough out your joints and adjust to make sure they fall conveniently and avoid having to cut thin slivers at wall ends, Windows, sockets. Etc

Stuart Beard

Fail too prepare… prepare too fail

Karl Menzies

Take your time 👍🏻

David Grattan

Fully extend your ofla knife blade. Creates a lower angle so there is less chance of tearing 👍🏻

Jamie Wakeford

Rinse off your steel scissors in boiling water, wipe dry, the heat within the steel will expel any moisture, helps against rusting

Steven Cutting

It’s a simple one but too many people don’t do it. Alway have a good look down the papers edges to make sure they have enough paste on them.

Lee Quinn

Always work away from the window and finish above the door

Wayne Gregory

Always put your paste bucket or skuttle on a hop up to the side of you saves keep bending down to dip

Martin Wagstaff

Don’t score across your paste table with your knife when cutting lengths. It scores the table and when u wash it down it all swells and marks the paper

David Grattan

When customers have one feature wall papered and other walls are plan, I suggest cutting round Images from paper left over and sticking randomly around. Or if it’s a leafy flower pattern, cut the images out and stick in one corner of room to make it look like it’s growing up the wall and spreading out either sides of wall at top.

My customers love that idea 👌
Mia Watson

When hanging paper, make sure it’s the right way up.. it makes it easier not to get ripped apart…. 😢

Paul Mclellen

When using solvite paste add some pva to get better adhesion.

Brian Pocock

When finished papering and there’s almost a full roll left, l always wrap the paper up with the details and put a bit of tape on it to hold it together. It’s incase there’s any miss happs and you need to replace any lengths.

Michael Mclellen (pic)

😈😈 Do not under any circumstances Use wickes wallpaper paste..I think Colombian drug lords have tampered with it 😈😈

Lee Stantiall

Keep Pasted lengths in a bin liner to prevent drying to quick. Handy if you’re working on a tricky area and you’ve pasted a few lengths. (Booking). 😉

Derrick Knight

Mix half & half flake paste with ready mixed.

Paper will slide into place on the wall easily like when using flake but have the strength of ready mixed
Scott Homson

Always offer customer off cuts to put as photos in frames on other walls have done it a few times

Michael Williams

Put your pencil behind your ear just remember where you put it.
