Trying to get work from a Local Selling Page

By Alan Horne

Irritating!

Somebody was asking for recommendations on a local Facebook page.

I sent pictures of my work etc to potentially strike up a conversation. It turned out I’d recently completed a whole house on that estate.

She tells me her house is the same, so I then send a video of all the work I had completed in the property a few doors down from her.

She asks, “what’s your day rate”.

I tell her what I normally work for, but also go on to tell her that this wouldn’t matter for this job as it would be priced as a whole job, so it’s always in my interest to crack on etc and not work slowly or take a ton of breaks.

She tells me she’s had cheaper day rate quotes and thanks for the interest!

Ridiculous!

How on earth can she just disregard my contact based on a day rate price?? I had explained be how this project would be priced?

So, somebody that is for example £20 cheaper a day gets more of a look in??

I hope they take a break every hour, work 6 hours a day and take 5 days longer than I would have! Pathetic!
