The Future of the Decorating Industry

ProDec  asked members of the  Decorators Forum to give their visions on what the future has in store for the decorating industry. This is a sample of what they came back with

Hopefully, sometime in the near future someone chooses a colour for their living room that isn’t Grey! But then I also hope to win the lottery and I don’t even play it. So Grey; The future for Decorating will be Grey.

.

Future is bleak, no good apprentices coming through. Most are working and serving their apprenticeship on building sites. They are not getting the experience on how to use colours, how to paint windows and how to prep properly

.

Waterborne finishes and a full dustless set ups. Someone will invent something for intricate work rather than having to mess around with a sanding sponge for curved areas.

.

Water based!

.

Robots

.

The future for decorating is strong. After standing still for several years the manufacturers have finally started to improve with the water-based products. Spraying is becoming more popular and moved on from just industrial, to join the commercial and domestic markets. Also, wallpaper is back in fashion with some fantastic bold designs.
This industry is on the move again and it’s exciting.

.

spraying is the future, been saying it for years

.

Reduction of oil-based paints even more.
Environmentally friendly paints and wallpapers being specified by all clients

.

Getting the perfect finish 👌

.

The future of the decorating industry is bright for decorating with so many great products on the market
