Smith & Rodger goes from strength to strength with problem-solving product range

Smith & Rodger are becoming known for their problem-solving products including Blockade, Rocktop and their latest launch, Flow & Bond.

Since its launch in 2018, Blockade has proved popular with painters and decorators across the nation due to its one coat, quick drying and complete stain blocking properties, often saving hours on jobs for its users. Blockade White Shellac Sealer Primer provides excellent adhesion to almost all interior surfaces such as previously coated and new wood, plaster, drywall, porous wallcoverings, metal and tile and requires minimal preparation before use.

Blockade saves time on jobs that need to be quickly overcoated with emulsion. The pure shellac base permanently blocks stains and odours, covering even the darkest of colours, seals knots and covers damage from water, smoke and mould. Many decorators see it as a key part of their toolkit and buy in large sizes to use over several jobs. 5L, 2.5L, 1L, 500ml and 400ml aerosol sizes are now available.

Their Rocktop Clearcoat has been extremely well received by the trade as a multi-surface product for high wear, high traffic areas. Rocktop is extra-tough and dries completely clear so whether you need to seal and protect wooden floors, protect wallpaper in a bathroom or give a protective finish to brick, stone or kitchen worktops, Rocktop will get it done. It is also ideal to protect furniture that receives high wear – either previously painted or as a decorators varnish to show off the wood finish. Rocktop is available in Matt, Satin & Gloss finishes in 4 sizes:  500ml, 1L, 2.5L & 5L.

Flow & Bond hit the market in summer 2023 and has quickly found its place in stockists around the country, from Brewers Decorators Centres to The Paint Shed and many independent stockists.

What is Flow & Bond? It’s a 2in1 product. Add 10% into any water-based interior or exterior paint to dramatically improve the flow, coverage and adhesion. Particularly good in the summer months for Masonry paints, but also ideal for paints meant for plaster, wood, UPVC and varnished surfaces! If you want to save time and reduce brush/roller marks, this is the paint conditioner for you!

Ian McAslan, Managing Director at Smith & Rodger said “We are delighted to see Flow & Bond join Blockade and Rocktop in doing so well with painters & decorators. We love seeing people share their videos and reviews on social media, and are working with some great stockists for all of our products including Brewers, Crown Decorator Centres, The Paint Shed and Dulux Decorators Centres. Watch this space to see what’s next!”
