HB42 – makers of premium caulks, sealants and adhesives – have extended their range of primers with the introduction of their new PS3 Primer-Sealer.
HB42 have been around since 2013, when their Ultimate Sealant & Adhesive first appeared on the market. The brand’s name comes from Hilton Banks (the parent company who created the brand) and the number 42, which fans of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy will recognise as the answer to “the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything”. Which is what HB42 strives to provide; the ultimate answer (in terms of quality) to everyday problems faced by contractors in the building and decorating trades.
The HB42 range also includes grab adhesives, silicones, wood filler, mitre bond glue, caulks, wood glues and many more – all designed for top level performance.
PS3 joins its siblings PS1 and PS2 to form a trio of primer-sealer paints for the decorating industry:
- PS1 is a shellac-based primer for ultimate stain-blocking. Suitable for use on interior wood- and plasterwork, as well as difficult glossy surfaces like varnish, it dries rapidly and blocks stains in a single coat
- PS2 is a water-based primer-sealer that can be used on just about any surface, inside and out. It’s quick drying, can be applied by brush, roller or spray, and contains ingredients that help prevent both rust and mould
PS3 is the new addition to the range. It’s a solvent (oil) based stain-blocking primer for use indoors and out, with exceptional adhesion qualities. It blocks water stains, nicotine, smoke damage, graffiti and tannin bleed, and although it’s oil-based it is touch dry in 1-2 hours (depending on the surface) and over-paintable (with either oil- or water-based paints) in 2 hours.
Its exceptional adhesion qualities mean you can use it on plasterwork, concrete, wood, previously painted surfaces….in fact they reckon it can be used on just about any surface with minimal prep required.
Given HB42’s mission to find ultimate solutions by developing the highest quality ingredients, and best available formulations, HB42 PS3 is sure to be a welcome addition to many decorators’ tool kits. New HB42 PS3 is available in 500ml, 1L, 2.5L and 5L tins.
