This is a barn convention in Kent and a first time customer to whom I was recommended by an existing customer.
The barn itself is now the entrance lobby to the main building and is currently being modernised. They removed an old oak staircase to replace it with a steel one that Gascony a central pole that looks like a tree trunk and the handrails and newel posts resemble branches.
My brief was to complete work in 7 days. There were some major cracks which I raked out then applied copious amounts of fibrecryl then taped and jointed where required Or just face filled.
The entire area had been painted in magnolia 11 years ago and the customer now wanted white ceilings and Dulux boutique cream. Ceilings took 3 coats of macphearsons eclipse. I used eclipse as I knew that dry edges would be unavoidable and it has never let me down by flashing or picture framing.
The walls also had some cracking and the same procedures followed as the ceilings. All work was completed in 6 days as a day lost to client changing mind and having a wall dot and dabbed and skimmed and plumbers coming in to remove radiators. All in all a nice job and a new customer to boot.
