It’s difficult to stand out in the decorating industry. But one way you can do it is by offering your customers something that other decorators are not. Everyone knows how to decorate using standard matt emulsion but decorators that offer their customers textured or metallic finishes are far and few between.

My name’s Johnny, and I have worked for Avko Interior, a small Hampshire-based paint company since 2016. In this blog post, I’m going to tell you a bit about our metallic feature wall paints so that you can stand out amongst the crowd of decorators.

What actually are metallic feature wall paints?

Metallic Feature Wall Paints are unique in character; they contain a metallic pigment which gives it a textured touchable surface which shimmers and shines. It’s paint with its own personality where your customers can express their creative side and enjoy its pliable striking surface with varied strokes and movements. What will emerge is a beautiful durable finish which is captivating in all interior environments.

What kind of finishes are out there?

There are several different types of metallic or textured wall paints out there, and we offer 3 main textures through our online only paint shop. They’re called Sharazade, Madreperla and Setteveli. Sometimes, customers enquire with us about venetian plaster paint, which is another term for this kind of textured effect. We’ve written a blog post with a guide to achieving this effect if you’d like to check it out here.

Sharazade is our main metallic feature wall paint, its pigment gives it a gorgeous finish which can be intensified by adding our ‘plus’ additive which gives it an even more textured finish (which is very popular with our customers)!

Madreperla is an opulent paint finish for interior use, which looks stunning when used on a feature wall for contrast. The finish will add a touch of silky pearlescent tones to the wall with shimmering reflections. This paint effect has a high density and when applied this metallic paint takes on a feeling of smooth and silky lightness. It flows and moves effortlessly onto the feature wall and for that added extra touch, Madreperla can be infused with our top-grade glitter to bring the pigment to life.

Setteveli is a refined paint with a soft pearly finish designed for interior use. Its silvery and golden tones captivate at first glance. The decorative technique is rough yet sophisticated making it a delightful and durable finish. When used alongside a smooth matt emulsion, Setteveli is the perfect feature wall paint owing to its textured finish, making it a just alternative to wallpaper. Not to mention, it’s completely water-based (like all our Avko Interior products) making it environmentally friendly too!
