Ten good causes across London are battling it out for votes to win a share of a £10,000 makeover jackpot.
The groups – including community centres, sports clubs and a school – are campaigning for the public’s support to come out on top in Leyland’s Big Community Makeover competition.
The good cause with the largest share of support in a public vote will win £5,000 worth of decorating and DIY product from any Leyland store, with two runners-up receiving £2,500 of product each.
The vote opened today (November 11) and closes on November 30. People can vote once a day by visiting: www.leylandsdm.co.uk/bigcommunitymakeover
Martin Hastings, CEO of Leyland, said: “We are delighted to launch the next stage of our Big Community Makeover competition, which sees 10 very worthy good causes going head-to-head in a battle for public support.
“All of these groups do amazing work in their local community and have big plans if they are successful in securing one of our prizes. I can’t wait to see who comes out on top.
“Leyland now has 35 stores right across London. We are passionate about the city and care about the communities in which we operate.
“Big Community Makeover is a way for us to shine a light on some of the fantastic work that is happening in the capital – and to make a tangible difference to the facilities of three winners.”
Big Community Makeover attracted more than 250 entries, with judges at Leyland whittling it down to a final 10.
They are: Kentish Town Community Centre, Brixton Advice Centre, Nunhead Community Centre, Voluntary Action Islington, Family Based Solutions, Barnes Football Club, Malden Manor Primary School, Back Up, Ella’s and User Voice.
The winning groups will be able to select any products from Leyland’s extensive range, including paint from leading brands, tools, timber and plumbing parts.
Leyland stores are found in prominent locations across London, stocking a comprehensive range of products, including paint and decorating essentials, tools, hardware, electrical and plumbing equipment and building materials.
