Leyland SDM to close for HM The Queen’s funeral

Leyland SDM will close all of its stores on Monday for the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The decorating and DIY specialist took the decision to shut as a mark of respect and to offer colleagues the opportunity to pay their own private tributes to the county’s longest reigning monarch.

Leyland SDM CEO Jonathan Jennings said: “We were deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, who played such an important role in this country over an extraordinarily long period of time.

“We’ve taken the decision to close all 32 of our stores, as well as our Wembley head office, on Monday as a mark of respect to Her Majesty and the Royal Family. It will give our colleagues the chance to pay their own respects on what will be an historic day.”

Leyland SDM has stores right across London and stocks a comprehensive range of thousands of products across all departments, including paint and decorating essentials, building materials, electrical fittings, tools, plumbing equipment, ironmongery and much more, all under one roof.

Stores will re-open on Tuesday morning from 6.30am.
