JOHNSTONE’S PAINT brand by PPG announces Johnstone’s Painter of the Year Awards 2024: Shortlist Revealed for Ceremony at Iconic Bristol Aerospace

JOHNSTONE’S PAINT, a brand by PPG, today revealed the shortlist for this year’s Johnstone’s Painter of the Year Awards, now in its 41st year of honouring the best in the painting and decorating industry. This year’s event will be held at an iconic venue, promising an unforgettable experience as the industry comes together to celebrate excellence.

The awards will be held at Aerospace Bristol on Saturday, 5th April. Guests will be treated to a spectacular black tie awards evening, dining underneath the wings of the legendary Concorde. The celebration will feature a futuristic galactic theme, inspired by the 2025 Colour of the Year, Acai Berry, and kinetic trends symbolising movement and innovation.

First, the winners of the six categories will be revealed, before winners of the paint categories compete for the coveted title of ‘Supreme Winner.’ Attendees will get the chance to vote and decide who takes home the top prize, a brand-new van for their business.

The shortlist was chosen from hundreds of remarkable entries and celebrates a range of projects from diverse sectors, including Commercial & Industrial; Education & Healthcare; Hospitality, Leisure & Retail; and Residential; as well as projects using EWI and Render systems.

Each project has been carefully assessed by PPG’s team of experts, with judging based on the quality of the finish, the complexity of the work, and the technical and logistical challenges involved.

Megan Esmond, PPG marketing director, UK & Ireland, Architectural Coatings, said: “We’re bringing together the best of the best for an evening full of innovation and celebration with hardworking professionals.

“The Painter of the Year Awards is an important opportunity for us to shine a spotlight on the exceptional talent of painters and decorators all over the UK, and each year the quality continues to raise the bar.

“Choosing the shortlist was tough, and we’d like to congratulate all our finalists. We’re eagerly looking forward to what promises to be an unforgettable event, as we announce the winners!”
