Masonry Paint has officially been awarded the BBA Agrément Certificate, which is a mark of excellence in the construction industry.

Setting the Standard for Exterior Paint

Independent testing has always been at the part of product development at Emperor. That goes for their entire range of super hydrophobic, ultra-durable exterior paints and treatments.

Emperor Masonry Paint had previously undergone testing at a UKAS-accredited laboratory to validate the performance of the paint in four tests;

  • EAD 090062-00-0404 – 25 year performance
  • EAD 040083-00-0404 – External thermal insulation composite (heat retention for improved energy efficiency)
  • BS EN ISO 7783:2011 – Water vapour diffusion (breathability)
  • BS EN ISO 12572 – Water vapour resistance

Emperor Masonry Paint passed all four tests, reinforcing its status as one of the most advanced masonry paints available today.

Achieving the BBA Agrément Certificate

Determined to go even further in the pursuit of independent verification and certifications for the product, Emperor Paint put forward its masonry paint for certification by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) – the UK’s leading independent certification body for construction products.

The BBA Agrément Certificate is a mark of excellence awarded only to products that pass an extensive and stringent evaluation process, ensuring they meet national and European standards.

Over a 12-month certification process, Emperor Masonry Paint underwent comprehensive assessments, including:

  • Laboratory product testing
  • On-site production evaluations
  • Building regulation compliance checks
  • Product inspections
  • Quality management system audits

Emperor Masonry Paint passed all aspects of the certification and was awarded the BBA Agrément Certificate.

Jack Reading from Emperor Paint said: “From day one, achieving BBA certification for our masonry paint was a key milestone for us. We know how important it is for homeowners and Professional Decorators to make an informed decision about what paint is best for their project based on data-backed, independent testing.

The BBA Agrément Certificate is one of the most respected endorsements in the industry, so we are very proud to be able to announce this certification and believe this further solidifies Emperor Masonry Paint’s position as one of the most trusted masonry paints in the UK.”
