Dulux Trade Tinted Vinyl Matt is Cheaper at B&Q than My Local Trade Counter

By Anonymous

Brief update on my local decorating store…

I wanted to buy 20lt of Dulux Jasmine White Trade vinyl matt. The guy behind the counter at my local trade outlet quoted me £43 all in for 5lt!! I pointed out it was £37 off the shelf for Dulux Jasmine White Trade vinyl matt for 5lt. He told me it was a different paint!! He said, as he’d have to mix it, it wasn’t “like for like” so he couldn’t match that price!!

Ok, I’ll go to B&Q to spend my money (it’s only 5mins up the road), but thanks for your time, have a good day. 🤷🏼‍♂️

So, they’ve missed out on and about £200. Now in terms of decorating expenditure it’s not a lot of money and I know it’s a drop in the ocean to them, but I thought these places were supposed to be there for us?

I’m left wondering if I’m getting something wrong here, or is it just being tight…. 🤔😳
Anyhow, I’ve saved myself about £40 in 2 trips to my local B&Q for Dulux Trade paint off the shelf. 👍

I’m off to paint some Jasmine White now. Peace out brothers and sisters of the brush
✌️🎨

*** UPDATE ***

I’ve just phoned the Dulux technical help as the number was on the back of the tin & asked…

“Is there any difference in quality between Dulux trade tinted vinyl matt bought off the shelf at B&Q, as opposed to Dulux trade tinted vinyl matt at B****rs?” And the response was “No, they are exactly the same…”

So, there we have it 👍
