Crown Paints has announced a new three-year charity partnership with leading mental health charities Mind and Mental Health Ireland.

The partnership will see the leading paint manufacturer raise awareness and funds for both charities while supporting internal wellbeing initiatives and external campaigns that promote better mental health across the painting and decorating industry in the UK and Ireland.

The announcement follows Crown Paints Ireland’s recent involvement in Mental Health Ireland’s national “Hello, How Are You?” campaign—an initiative that encourages people to connect through everyday conversations and check in on mental wellbeing. For Mind, Crown Paints began its fundraising efforts by hosting a charity golf day in May, raising awareness through team-building and friendly competition. The event brought together employees, partners, and customers in support of mental health, fostering open conversations and raising vital funds. These partnerships mark a significant step in Crown Paints commitment to supporting mental wellbeing both within the workplace and in the wider community.

Matt Crossingham, Managing Director at Crown Paints, said: “Mental health touches every part of our lives – at home, at work and in our communities. These partnerships are about more than fundraising; they’re about helping to break down stigma, spark conversations and ensure our people feel supported, seen and safe.

“This is especially important to us as mental health concerns disproportionately impact tradespeople. Factors such as financial pressures, irregular workloads, and the isolating nature of the job contribute to these challenges. Through our partnerships with Mind and Mental Health Ireland, we aim to address these concerns by fostering greater awareness and providing access to mental health support for painters and decorators, ensuring they feel supported and valued within the industry.

“We’re looking forward to supporting Mind and Mental Health Ireland make a positive difference to people’s lives.”

Over the coming months, teams across Crown Paints will take part in further fundraising activities, awareness campaigns and volunteering opportunities, with colleagues encouraged to bring forward ideas and local initiatives they feel passionate about.

Andrew Berrie, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Crown Paints and that they’ve chosen to support Mind in being there for those of us with a mental health problem.

“We know that financial pressures can significantly impact mental health and with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, these pressures are only increasing. The money raised will allow us to reach more people who need us and create a future where no mind is left behind. It’s fantastic to see a business taking active steps to prioritise mental health – we’re excited about what we can achieve together.”

Claire Flynn, Mental Health Promotion Coordinator and campaign lead for Hello, How Are You? with Mental Health Ireland, said: “Having Crown Paints Ireland’s support for our national Hello, How Are You? campaign on May 15th has launched a important partnership that will help us spread awareness and information about mental health, challenge stigma and raise funds for our work across the country. The Hello campaign highlights the importance of staying connected and encourages early help-seeking through reliable information on mental health support services and signposting. We’re excited to see this partnership strengthen this campaign to reach and connect more communities grow and inspire more open conversations around mental health.”
