Leading decorating and DIY specialist Leyland is helping Chelsea look blooming beautiful by taking part in an annual floral art competition – with a twist.

Leyland is set to wow customers and passers-by with a stunning window display at its King’s Road store after signing up for Chelsea in Bloom for the first time.

Running from May 19-25 alongside the world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Chelsea in Bloom is celebrating its 20th anniversary of transforming the streets with breathtaking displays of fresh flowers within the area’s best retailers, restaurants, and hotels.

This year’s theme is Flowers in Fashion and Leyland has teamed up with luxury florist Moyses Stevens to plan an eye-catching display featuring flower arches and a mannequin styled as a decorator in full PPE and workwear.

There will be a bench amongst the display for photographs and selfies – and Leyland is running a competition to win a DeWalt Combi Drill by posting the picture on Instagram.

Naivasha Elworthy, Head of Marketing at Leyland, said: “We’re really excited to be taking part in Chelsea in Bloom for the first time.

“This floral art show has grown year-on-year and completely transforms the neighbourhood.

“We have worked very hard on our display so that it not only looks amazing but also gives a nod to our core customer base of tradespeople, painters and decorators.

“We have been a part of the Chelsea community with our King’s Road store for more than 30 years and it’s great to be supporting this initiative.”

The Confetti Club London, a sustainable organisation that donates profits to cancer charities, will be collecting leftover flowers from Leyland’s display to repurpose them as confetti for weddings and events.

Chelsea in Bloom is organised by Cadogan Estates in association with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).

The displays will be judged by an expert panel while The People’s Champion Award will be chosen by an online public vote.

Leyland will host one of its popular Trade Days at the Chelsea store on May 20 during the Flower Show week, where top DIY and decorating brands will have representatives demonstrating products. There will be special offers on the day, as well as three popular trade and DIY influencers attending, Kris Fox Devos, The Prestige Painter and Jen The Decorator.

The event also coincides with Leyland’s Dulux Trade Week, an exclusive initiative between Leyland and AkzoNobel, during which there will be 20% discounts across Leyland’s range of Dulux Trade and Dulux Heritage paints.

Leyland has 35 stores in prominent locations across London, stocking a comprehensive range of thousands of products across all departments, including paint and decorating essentials, building materials, electrical fittings, tools and plumbing equipment.
